Kalundborg plant

The new plant in Kalundborg, Denmark, will double Pronova BioPharma’s production capacity. Construction work started in Q4 2007, and the plant is expected to be operational, including regulatory approval first half 2010. Total investments are expected to be some NOK 1.45 -1.70 billion

Annual production capacity is expected to be 1 200 metric tons. The design will be modulate, with capacity for additional two modules of 600 metric tons. Recruitment started Q1 2008, and around 85 new full time equivalents are expected to be in place by the end of 2008

As the technology will be duplicated from the Sandefjord plant, a number of employees will be trained in Sandefjord, in order to be prepared to operate the new plant.
