Our first commercialised product is the only EU- and FDA-approved omega-3 derived prescription pharmaceutical product, branded as Omacor in Europe and Asia, and as Lovaza in the USA. Omacor/Lovaza is prescribed as an adjunct to diet for the treatment of elevated levels of triglycerides in humans, and it is also approved in certain markets for the secondary prevention of post-myocardial infarction. The pipeline of pre-clinical and clinical programmes is well diversified and includes new indications, like atrial fibrillation and heart failure, as well as new formulations and new products. Positive results from a phase III heart failure study were recently published, showing that Omacor/Lovaza reduces mortality and morbidity in patients with chronic heart failure.
